Creating a Yelp Page

February 3, 2017

Is your business is ready to handle more customers?  It's time to get on Yelp!

Yelp connects local customers to local businesses, from balloon artists (Balloon Zoom) to dog walkers (a perfect, kid-run business). Local business owners can create a Yelp page that talks about who they are, what they do, and when they are open; post photos; and message their customers -- all for the kid-friendly price of $0.

It gets better.  Yelp is not only free.  It's popular.  We get customer inquiries from people who find Balloon Zoom on Yelp every single day.  Last year, we were completely booked for the year by October 11, thanks in part to people who saw our five-star rating on Yelp.

Creating a page is easy, as long as you have already set up your free business telephone number (go back to our blog post, Get a Kid-Friendly (Free!) Business Phone, from September 19, 2014, to find out how), and you are ready to answer every email and every phone call you get.  Yelp is a valuable tool only if you are willing to put in the work required to keep every customer happy.  If we were not professional, did not deliver beautiful balloons at a good price, or failed to answer emails and phone calls, we could get bad reviews.

Always remember that customers read reviews, and that just one bad review can kill a business' reputation.

Committed to doing the work?  Visit Yelp for Business Owners here to set up your page.  Need some inspiration?  Take a look at Balloon Zoom's Yelp page here!

Come back and leave us a comment to let us know how it goes!
